Almendrillo AFC's Francisco Alberto Sarratea played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quentín Herquiñigo in the 5th minute of play. 9 minutes into the match, Quentín Herquiñigo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Almendrillo AFC's Francisco Alberto Sarratea. Francisco Alberto Sarratea was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rollo Maeztu's late challenge caught a Almendrillo AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rollo Maeztu helped the player get up and apologised. After 13 played minutes Arsenal FC got a freekick which was hit by Rollo Maeztu. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Julio Urrejola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Almendrillo AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Julio Urrejola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norino Pardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Romano Magallanes took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Norino Pardo to make any attempt to save it. When Arsenal FC's Quentín Herquiñigo in the 30th minute got a chance for a shot 30th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee ignored Arsenal FC's protests and gave Caupolicán Unzueta a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Arsenal FC's Caupolicán Unzueta got a free kick in the 35th minute. When Arsenal FC's Ricardinho Moreira in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Francisco Alberto Sarratea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quentín Herquiñigo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The long shot by Mauro Carillanca in the 52nd minute really tested Francisco Alberto Sarratea's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Quentín Herquiñigo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Washington Leay fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Alberto Sarratea having to interfere. Ricardinho Moreiras short, quick shot in the 58thth minute got Francisco Alberto Sarratea to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Arsenal FC's Ricardinho Moreira in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After 82 played minutes Almendrillo AFC got a freekick which was hit by Arnaldo Beitia. Ricardinho Moreira's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 84thth minute, Francisco Alberto Sarratea skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Francisco Alberto Sarratea acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 90th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nahuel Valverde. Arsenal FC's Quentín Herquiñigo got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardinho Moreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Francisco Alberto Sarratea read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 93rd minute of play. Francisco Alberto Sarratea made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Ricardinho Moreira sent off a good shot on target.
