Ofelio Olivar might have been able to make a better finish in the 5th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jose Manuel Pinilla. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ofelio Olivar ran back to his position shaking his head. 10 minutes into the game, Samuel Losada was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chillaiza AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Graneros the free kick. In the 10th match minute, Chillaiza AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Losada to maneuver through the defense. In the 15th minute, Ofelio Olivar got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 16 minutes, Eulalio Monreal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chillaiza AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eulalio Monreal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jose Manuel Pinilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nacho Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ofelio Olivar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Carlos Manuel Ancieta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind Graneros's goalkeeper Reinaldo Martínez Lamas, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to Graneros getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Carlo Ávila hit a great ball. Eulalio Monreal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Reinaldo Martínez Lamas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Eulalio Monreal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd match minute, Graneros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlo Ávila to maneuver through the defense. In the 43rd minute of the match Oriol Madariaga shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Reinaldo Martínez Lamas showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Adriel Phillips charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Adriel Phillips the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eulalio Monreal in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Reinaldo Martínez Lamas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Graneros's Adriel Phillips got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Manuel Ancieta to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Chillaiza AFC's zone, Ofelio Olivar stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose Manuel Pinilla came out of the goal and Ofelio Olivar tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 55th match minute, Graneros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ricard Zavala to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Graneros's zone, Oriol Madariaga stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Reinaldo Martínez Lamas came out of the goal and Oriol Madariaga tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eulalio Monreal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Reinaldo Martínez Lamas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reinaldo Martínez Lamas made an important save on a dangerous shot by Eulalio Monreal in the 72nd minute. Eulalio Monreal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reinaldo Martínez Lamas having to interfere. Ofelio Olivar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jose Manuel Pinilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Graneros's defense didn't have a chance, in the 84th minute, when Carlos Manuel Ancieta scored to the left of an out of position Reinaldo Martínez Lamas, making the score, 0-1. In the 91st minute Ofelio Olivar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Manuel Pinilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 97 minutes into the match, Chillaiza AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Nacho Pardo came free, but Jose Manuel Pinilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Chillaiza AFC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
