Florinio Borja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hilario Gajardo in the 12th minute of play. When the match clock showed 16 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Markus Balart sped through Los Peters's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Domingo Campillo. Los Peters's Domingo Campillo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quintén Potts in the 26th minute of play. In the 31st minute, Quintén Potts left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Gueyusca fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Quintén Potts charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Quintén Potts the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Liberto Cubillos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Florinio Borja made a huge save. The Los Peters players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Gueyusca were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quintén Potts made a kick off. Domingo Campillo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quintén Potts, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Quintén Potts in the 80th minute of play forced Los Peters's goalkeeper Domingo Campillo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Los Peters getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Gilberto Pandolfi hit a great ball. If Hilario Gajardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Los Peters booed when Gueyusca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andoni Baburizza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Liberto Cubillos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Florinio Borja tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 94th minute, Hilario Gajardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Los Peters's supporters rose to their feet, but Hilario Gajardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Florinio Borja breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Liberto Cubillos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Florinio Borja having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Gueyusca eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
