If Silvio Aránguiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isadoro Van Diest in the 6th minute of play forced Piruquina FC's goalkeeper Loreto Mota to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Huatacondo defense, Baltazar Melo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rafa Palmer. The Huatacondo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rafa Palmer should have stopped the shot. If Isadoro Van Diest had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Ramón Bocanegra came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Piruquina FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ramón Bocanegra couldn't finish the play. Baltazar Melo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Rafa Palmer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ramón Bocanegra struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Rafa Palmer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piruquina FC. In the 27th minute Silvio Aránguiz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loreto Mota saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Silvio Aránguiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Ramón Bocanegra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The supporters of Huatacondo booed when Piruquina FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Luis Lois didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 53 played minutes, Huatacondo's Roque Unger shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Loreto Mota came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Huatacondo reached it. Loreto Mota made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Silvio Aránguiz sent off a good shot on target. If Silvio Aránguiz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Osvaldo Carte fell near the penalty area in the 60th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Huatacondo's protests and gave Osvaldo Carte a yellow card for diving instead. Loreto Mota took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isadoro Van Diest, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Huatacondo's Osvaldo Carte got his second yellow card of the match in the 69th minute. The referee ordered Osvaldo Carte off the ground. In the 69th match minute, Huatacondo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Carte to maneuver through the defense.
