But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simón Pereira couldn't finish the play. In the 7th minute, Simón Pereira made a precise shot to the right of Jose Manuel Cubillos. Castro AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After some careless play in the Castro AFC defense, Simón Pereira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jose Manuel Cubillos. The Castro AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jose Manuel Cubillos should have stopped the shot. Jose Manuel Cubillos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simón Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. In the 21st minute Simón Pereira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jose Manuel Cubillos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Rafael Aujea made a precise shot to the right of Pierre Ruffat. Curana AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Jose Manuel Cubillos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Alberto Albert in the 27th minute of play. José Alberto Albert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. In the 35th match minute, Castro AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Unai Goicoechea to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Unai Goicoechea hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Simón Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Castro AFC's zone, Simón Pereira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose Manuel Cubillos came out of the goal and Simón Pereira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rafael Aujea stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. José Marcelo Calderón kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when José Alberto Albert got free with Jose Manuel Cubillos in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Castro AFC getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Unai Goicoechea hit a great ball. Jose Manuel Cubillos made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Alberto Albert in the 64th minute. 71 minutes into the match, Curana AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Aluísio Cunha came free, but Pierre Ruffat reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 73rdth minute of the game Rafael Aujea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Curana AFC's Pierre Ruffat was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Aluísio Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 78th minute of the match, José Alberto Albert got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jose Manuel Cubillos was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Jonatán Campo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jose Manuel Cubillos came out and tried to block the shot, but Jonatán Campo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 80th minute. José Alberto Albert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Manuel Cubillos having to interfere. Jose Manuel Cubillos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Simón Pereira, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. José Alberto Albert might have been able to make a better finish in the 93rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jose Manuel Cubillos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. José Alberto Albert ran back to his position shaking his head. Curana AFC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
