Miguel Nieto succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-0 in the 13th playminute. The supporters of Freire booed when CSD Colo Colo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ferrando Gallo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mercé Vaccia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 22ndth minute of the game Gilesindo Ávila who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but CSD Colo Colo's Aurelio Velasco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to CSD Colo Colo getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Valiente Wilson hit a great ball. Aurelio Velasco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mercé Vaccia, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. 31 minutes into the match, Mercé Vaccia notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of CSD Colo Colo's Aurelio Velasco. Aurelio Velasco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 34 played minutes Freire got a freekick which was hit by Gerard Bianchi. Miguel Nieto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Manuel Aballay having to interfere. Juan Manuel Aballay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pío Mac Gill in the 41st minute of the match. Pío Mac Gill's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Juan Manuel Aballay read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Juan Manuel Aballay showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pío Mac Gill, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Pío Mac Gill came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the CSD Colo Colo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Pío Mac Gill couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Freire's Gerard Bianchi got a free kick in the 56th minute. In the 57th minute of the match Ambrosio Armanet shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Juan Manuel Aballay showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Juan Manuel Aballay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pío Mac Gill in the 58th minute of play. The supporters of CSD Colo Colo booed when Freire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ludovico Villagra didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mercé Vaccia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelio Velasco having to interfere. Aurelio Velasco made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mercé Vaccia in the 76th minute. In the 80th minute, Miguel Nieto ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juan Manuel Aballay was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Gilesindo Ávila recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind CSD Colo Colo's goalkeeper Aurelio Velasco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Gilesindo Ávila got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 94 played minutes Freire got a freekick which was hit by Ludovico Villagra.
