Salbatore Portolés made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. But to his dismay, Juanjo Salinas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Salbatore Portolés showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabricio Anguita, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Fabricio Anguita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Salbatore Portolés having to interfere. Honorato Manns struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Salbatore Portolés didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Copaquire. If Fabricio Anguita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Juanjo Salinas to make the kick off. Renato Honores's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salbatore Portolés read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. When Ruyman Brieba fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pejerrei's protests and gave Ruyman Brieba a yellow card for diving instead. In the 78th minute, Ruyman Brieba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 played minutes, Copaquire's Andrés Zavaleta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Salbatore Portolés came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Copaquire reached it. Renato Honores sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
