Tancredo Barainca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Oscar Lyon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Tancredo Barainca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 13th match minute, Llicaldad FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Loreto Berecedo to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Llicaldad FC's Benito Melo got control of the ball when Bermejo Ibarra tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 20 played minutes Rucapequen got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Maggi. Norberto Marine charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Norberto Marine the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Llicaldad FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Norberto Marine hit a great ball. 27 minutes into the match, Rucapequen's goal looked a bit too open when Tancredo Barainca came free, but Oscar Lyon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Llicaldad FC's Benito Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odol Tornero in the 33rd minute of play. Bermejo Ibarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Benito Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Odol Tornero in the 36th minute of play forced Llicaldad FC's goalkeeper Benito Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Tancredo Barainca came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Llicaldad FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tancredo Barainca couldn't finish the play. Llicaldad FC's Tancredo Barainca got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 42 minutes into the match, Rucapequen's Bermejo Ibarra sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Benito Melo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Martino Urriola sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Martino Urriola to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Bermejo Ibarra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Melo was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. Benito Melo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Llicaldad FC booed when Rucapequen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raymundo Akel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Orlando Yevenez, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Odol Tornero struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Benito Melo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Benito Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bermejo Ibarra, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. 89 minutes into the game, Martino Urriola recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Oscar Lyon. Martino Urriola showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. After a defensive mix-up in Llicaldad FC's zone, Bermejo Ibarra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Melo came out of the goal and Bermejo Ibarra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Rucapequen's Odol Tornero in the 95th minute got a chance for a shot 95th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Llicaldad FC's goalie prevented a goal. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rucapequen fans cheered their team off the field, for while Llicaldad FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
