An unexpectedly hard shot by Pol Mendoza in the 3rd minute of play forced Nerquihue's goalkeeper Plácido Ovalle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute Ceandro Manieu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacinto Vicencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pol Mendoza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Plácido Ovalle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Nerquihue's Eustaquio Landi got a free kick in the 10th minute. If Pol Mendoza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Ubaldo Matildo Gorigoytía managed to get in a good position for a shot. Contulmo's supporters rose to their feet, but Ubaldo Matildo Gorigoytía was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jacinto Vicencio made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.
