The tension between the Hualcuna and the Chiguayante players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Hualcuna's Xosé Orella got a free kick in the 10th minute. Hualcuna's Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonatan Alzaga in the 14th minute of play. If Podador Partarrieu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonatan Alzaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Jonatan Alzaga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad. Hualcuna's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jonatan Alzaga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 34th minute, Abundio Ventura got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Abundio Ventura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Hualcuna's zone, Podador Partarrieu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad came out of the goal and Podador Partarrieu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albino Ferari in the 48th minute of play forced Hualcuna's goalkeeper Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Hualcuna's Balendín Caso got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jose Manuel Demartis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Plácido Lobillo in the 63rd minute of the match. If Jonatan Alzaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ruperto Peric who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 71stth minute tested the skills of Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Abundio Ventura sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Abundio Ventura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chiguayante's Jose Manuel Demartis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abundio Ventura in the 84th minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, one of Hualcuna:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The goalkeeper, Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad, was totally fooled by Chiguayante's Bairon Herboso, who 86 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. When Jonatan Alzaga came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Chiguayante fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonatan Alzaga couldn't finish the play. Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Podador Partarrieu, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. In the 97th minute, Ruperto Peric got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 98 minutes into the match, Hualcuna's goal looked a bit too open when Jonatan Alzaga came free, but Leopoldo Jacinto Mauad reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Chiguayante players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
