An unexpectedly hard shot by Benito Utrera in the 18th minute of play forced Deportes Iquique's goalkeeper Benicio Davalos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honorio Maffioletti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoriano Moreau having to interfere. With a little luck, Collipulli's Victoriano Moreau got control of the ball when Norbert Madajczyk tried to sneak it across the goal line. Norbert Madajczyk could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Victoriano Moreau made a huge save. If Honorio Maffioletti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomasino Mazuelas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Norbert Madajczyk's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Victoriano Moreau was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. Boguslaw Piesciuk lost his temper 90 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 90th minute, one of Deportes Iquique:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Deportes Iquique. After 99 minutes of play, Deportes Iquique's Norbert Madajczyk made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Victoriano Moreau was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Deportes Iquique fans cheered their team off the field, for while Collipulli had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
