Teatinos's Fernán Matta got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Estrella del este's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Fernán Matta 12 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Sebastiano Berrio made a fantastic save in the 17th minute, when José Ignacio Falleto sent off a good shot on target. In the 18th match minute, Estrella del este was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Luis Guerra to maneuver through the defense. Casimiro Martinic made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xavier Angel Ceballos in the 25th minute of play. Xavier Angel Ceballos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Teatinos's Fernán Matta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Sebastiano Berrio. That made the score 2-1 after 28 minutes of play. Fernán Matta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sebastiano Berrio having to interfere. After 37 minutes, Urtsín Puertocarrero mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Teatinos and the Estrella del este players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Teatinos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urtsín Puertocarrero to maneuver through the defense. In the 38th minute, Norberto Mazeira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Xavier Angel Ceballos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Casimiro Martinic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Casimiro Martinic took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Norberto Mazeira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernán Matta to make the kick off. Fernán Matta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Sebastiano Berrio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teatinos's Casimiro Martinic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Angel Ceballos in the 55th minute of play. Teatinos's Casimiro Martinic proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Teatinos from getting a goal against them. José Ignacio Falleto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Sebastiano Berrio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 60th minute Fernán Matta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastiano Berrio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, Estrella del este's goal looked a bit too open when Fernán Matta came free, but Sebastiano Berrio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Norberto Mazeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernán Matta took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sebastiano Berrio. Sebastiano Berrio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. 80 minutes into the match, Estrella del este's Xavier Angel Ceballos sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Casimiro Martinic narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norberto Mazeira got free with Casimiro Martinic in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Teatinos's Casimiro Martinic played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Angel Ceballos in the 87th minute of play. Estrella del este's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
