Licancheu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Elizalde Roldán was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elizalde Roldán in the 18th minute of play forced Chulchui's goalkeeper Ursino Bulnes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 21st minute Leovigildo Llanos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ursino Bulnes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fermín Mercado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. Carlos Alberto Muñiz who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Quique Fernández when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Licancheu's Quique Fernández played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Urtsín Cardoso in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th minute the ball was on its way in behind Licancheu's goalkeeper Quique Fernández, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Quique Fernández stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Carlos Alberto Muñiz's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. If Elizalde Roldán had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Fermín Mercado managed to get in a good position for a shot. Licancheu's supporters rose to their feet, but Fermín Mercado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ursino Bulnes breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 78 minutes into the game, Licancheu's Fermín Mercado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ursino Bulnes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Quique Fernández took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Urtsín Cardoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Elizalde Roldán received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Ursino Bulnes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 85 minutes, Fermín Mercado managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Licancheu's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fermín Mercado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 92nd play minutes Fermín Mercado shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Ursino Bulnes and just under the crossbar into goal. Urtsín Cardoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Quique Fernández having to interfere. Chulchui's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
