Zebulón Montaner showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alessandro Mauad in the 7th minute of the match. Jon-Ander Elzo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Alexandro Anguita came out and tried to block the shot, but Jon-Ander Elzo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 9th minute. A collision led to C.D.Meseta Azul getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Zacarías Yevenez hit a great ball. Abundio Galarce succeeded in the game's 23rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. After 33 played minutes Quinepeumo got a freekick which was hit by Igon Lamas. A hard shot 34 in the game by Abundio Galarce from a close distance when the talented Alexandro Anguita managed to make a qualified save. Quinepeumo's players were relieved. When Virgilio Olivares fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored C.D.Meseta Azul's protests and gave Virgilio Olivares a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes C.D.Meseta Azul got a freekick which was hit by Virgilio Olivares. A collision led to C.D.Meseta Azul getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Nazario Cienfuegos hit a great ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alessandro Mauad to make the kick off. Zebulón Montaner didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Igon Lamas went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. 61 minutes into the game, Alessandro Mauad cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Zebulón Montaner was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Thanks to some nice moves Ronaldo Narváez could shoot a difficult shot in the 69th minute, which Zebulón Montaner however easily saved by the left post. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abundio Galarce in the 72nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexandro Anguita saved Quinepeumo from getting behind. Hugo Orlando Ahumada blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexandro Anguita having to make a save. 97 minutes into the match, Abundio Galarce had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexandro Anguita. Quinepeumo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abundio Galarce was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. The C.D.Meseta Azul players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
