The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Orrego during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Rodolfo Orrego hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tauro Saldivia in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Txomin Isamit prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Pomuyeto's Rodolfo Orrego got his second yellow card of the match in the 25th minute. Pomuyeto's Txomin Isamit played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tauro Saldivia in the 31st minute of play. In the 33rd minute José Julio Cuellar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Txomin Isamit saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Pietro Landea got free with Ermegildo Tocornal in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tauro Saldivia made a kick off. Pietro Landea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Algarrobal's Francisco Antonio Fox got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tauro Saldivia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tauro Saldivia might have been able to make a better finish in the 63rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Txomin Isamit. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tauro Saldivia ran back to his position shaking his head. Ermegildo Tocornal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Constantino Santander in the 69th minute of the match. Pietro Landea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francisco Antonio Fox fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Txomin Isamit having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Algarrobal's zone, Pietro Landea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ermegildo Tocornal came out of the goal and Pietro Landea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Angelillo Maluenda kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. José Julio Cuellar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 84th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 89 played minutes, Algarrobal's Edmundo Méndez shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Txomin Isamit came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Algarrobal reached it. 93 minutes into the match, Pomuyeto's Pietro Landea sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ermegildo Tocornal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Txomin Isamit took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tauro Saldivia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
