In the 3rd minute, Eufemio Tagle ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Aníbal Hermosilla was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. If Claudio Ormaechea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Eufemio Tagle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aníbal Hermosilla was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. In the 26th minute, Patricio Sojo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 27 played minutes, Trabunco's Wilson Romero shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lander Bozo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Trabunco reached it. After some careless play in the Trabunco defense, Eufemio Tagle kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aníbal Hermosilla. The Trabunco fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aníbal Hermosilla should have stopped the shot. Ubaldo Matildo Izammit sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Aníbal Hermosilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eufemio Tagle in the 47th minute of the match. The Trabunco players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Vilches FC were winning 0-2.
The wind increased when Claudio Ormaechea made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Vilches FC's zone, Victor Hugo Recasens stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lander Bozo came out of the goal and Victor Hugo Recasens tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ubaldo Matildo Izammit fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aníbal Hermosilla having to interfere. Aníbal Hermosilla made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ubaldo Matildo Izammit in the 58th minute. If Ubaldo Matildo Izammit had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Victor Hugo Recasens sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Eufemio Tagle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vilches FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eufemio Tagle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aníbal Hermosilla breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Claudio Ormaechea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 84th minute Victor Hugo Recasens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lander Bozo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Vilches FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
