In the 26th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caucau's goalkeeper Orlando Henson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Lautaro Lantadilla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Orlando Henson having to interfere. Francisco José Ballero sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 42 minutes into the match, Caucau's Zelipe Akel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eustacio Escalante narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 43 minutes into the game, Honorato Larrea was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guarilihue's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caucau the free kick. Honorato Larrea hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. A hard shot by Renato Fagalde from long distance, 46 minutes into the match, got Eustacio Escalante's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Adam Baquedano made the kick off in the second half. Caucau's Orlando Henson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Caucau from getting a goal against them. An unexpected shot in the 72nd minute by Lautaro Lantadilla got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. When Florencio Baesler fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Caucau's protests and gave Florencio Baesler a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Caucau's Florencio Baesler got a free kick in the 74th minute. With a little luck, Caucau's Orlando Henson got control of the ball when Adam Baquedano tried to sneak it across the goal line. Zelipe Akel struck a weak shot in the 80th minute. Eustacio Escalante didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Caucau. In the 80th minute, Francisco José Ballero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Caucau fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adam Baquedano in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Orlando Henson saved Caucau from getting behind. When Adam Baquedano came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Guarilihue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adam Baquedano couldn't finish the play. Guarilihue's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
