Plácido Matamala received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Tor Ansola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Isadoro Sierra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Plácido Matamala got free with Tor Ansola in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 22nd minute, Fulgencio Aracena got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 26 minutes, Plácido Matamala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maxwell FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Plácido Matamala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Maxwell FC booed when Alicahue AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fidelio Olavarrieta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Fulgencio Aracena got free with Tor Ansola in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 37 minutes, Plácido Matamala managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maxwell FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Plácido Matamala was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Alicahue AFC's goalkeeper Tor Ansola had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Plácido Matamala. Tor Ansola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isadoro Sierra in the 42nd minute of the match. In the 43rd minute Plácido Matamala shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tor Ansola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ernesto Riquelme recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fulgencio Aracena was the one to do the kick off. Plácido Matamala took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tor Ansola. Tor Ansola dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Thanks to some nice moves Ubaldo Molina could shoot a difficult shot in the 57th minute, which Samuel Tamayo however easily saved by the left post. If Plácido Matamala had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A collision led to Alicahue AFC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Adriano Ambrosetti hit a great ball. Tor Ansola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isadoro Sierra in the 63rd minute of play. Fulgencio Aracena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 71 minutes into the match, Salbatore Lattapiat notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Maxwell FC's Samuel Tamayo. Samuel Tamayo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The corner led Maxwell FC's Fulgencio Aracena to fire away a dangerous shot which Tor Ansola despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. When Ernesto Riquelme came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Maxwell FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ernesto Riquelme couldn't finish the play. If Isadoro Sierra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Plácido Matamala might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tor Ansola. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Plácido Matamala ran back to his position shaking his head. Fulgencio Aracena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. When the final whistle went the supporters of Alicahue AFC were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Maxwell FC side.
