The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Abdón Albert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geofredo Lastarria, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Eugenio Mena got free with Leandro Dennett in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 played minutes Ever Detmer rounded Liumalla AFC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 25 minutes into the game, Vichuquen AFC's Eugenio Mena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leandro Dennett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After a defensive mix-up in Vichuquen AFC's zone, Geofredo Lastarria stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Abdón Albert came out of the goal and Geofredo Lastarria tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Leandro Dennett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ever Detmer, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Liumalla AFC's Domenico Restat got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geofredo Lastarria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Abdón Albert having to interfere. Abdón Albert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domenico Restat in the 42nd minute of the match. Alipio Cotapos's late challenge caught a Liumalla AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alipio Cotapos helped the player get up and apologised. If Geofredo Lastarria had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. If Ever Detmer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Leonardo Botello was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 54 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute, one of Liumalla AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Liumalla AFC. Xacobo Palomera shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Eugenio Mena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Dennett having to interfere. After some careless play in the Liumalla AFC defense, Eugenio Mena kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leandro Dennett. The Liumalla AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Dennett should have stopped the shot. 67 minutes into the game, Vichuquen AFC's Ever Detmer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leandro Dennett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. After 70 played minutes Vichuquen AFC got a freekick which was hit by Topocho Moyano. Maximiliano Feres hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Guntademaro Swinburn managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liumalla AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Guntademaro Swinburn was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abdón Albert breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Vichuquen AFC's Abdón Albert got control of the ball when Geofredo Lastarria tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ever Detmer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Leandro Dennett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th match minute, Liumalla AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guntademaro Swinburn to maneuver through the defense. Ever Detmer blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leandro Dennett having to make a save. When the match clock showed 90 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Geofredo Lastarria sped through Vichuquen AFC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Abdón Albert. When Geofredo Lastarria came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the Liumalla AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Geofredo Lastarria couldn't finish the play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Liumalla AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Vichuquen AFC.
