Jesus Akel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bairon Monckeberg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Galiano charged in rather forcefully in the 7th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pedro Galiano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Pirineos getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Pedro Galiano hit a great ball. In the 8th minute, Guatanave AFC's Luis Eduardo Arend ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gaspar Paillemil. Gaspar Paillemil yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. In the 15th minute, Bairon Monckeberg left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pirineos fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a rather tough play, Pirineos's Pedro Galiano got a free kick in the 19th minute. Ángel Macaya's shot from long distance in the 20th minute was not bad at all, but Pirineos's Gaspar Paillemil knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. A sloppy throw-in by Andolín Contreras in the 24th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Pirineos's Pedro Galiano. Severino Irisarri received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Gaspar Paillemil tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gaspar Paillemil made a fantastic save in the 32nd minute, when Luis Eduardo Arend sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Guatanave AFC's Severino Irisarri got a free kick in the 34th minute. Laurín Madariaga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jesus Akel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Bairon Monckeberg might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesus Akel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bairon Monckeberg ran back to his position shaking his head. 39 minutes into the match, Pirineos's Pedro Galiano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jesus Akel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Bairon Monckeberg had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Guatanave AFC booed when Pirineos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bairon Monckeberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zacarías Quitral was the one to do the kick off. After 51 minutes, Luis Eduardo Arend mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guatanave AFC and the Pirineos players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luis Eduardo Arend hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Pirineos's Gaspar Paillemil played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zacarías Quitral in the 66th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Guatanave AFC's zone, Bairon Monckeberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jesus Akel came out of the goal and Bairon Monckeberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gaspar Paillemil showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Eduardo Arend, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. After having played for 82 minutes, Bairon Monckeberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pirineos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bairon Monckeberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pablo Byers sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, Pirineos's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Eduardo Arend came free, but Gaspar Paillemil reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gaspar Paillemil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarías Quitral in the 94th minute of the match. Guatanave AFC succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Pirineos had controlled the match.
