Camilo Antunovic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermenegildo Araus having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 31 minutes, Desiderio Aracena took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Hermenegildo Araus to make any attempt to save it. Firmín Navarrete showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milián Klickmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jeronimo Cabañas got free with Hermenegildo Araus in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Cosca getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nicasio Zurieta hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Camilo Antunovic got free with Hermenegildo Araus in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 46th minute, Nicasio Zurieta hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 48 minutes in the game, Camilo Antunovic fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Hermenegildo Araus having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The referee ignored Cosca's protests and gave Valerio Potts a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Cosca getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Valerio Potts hit a great ball. Hermenegildo Araus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeronimo Cabañas, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Francisco Miguel Maack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cosca's supporters rose to their feet, but Francisco Miguel Maack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Firmín Navarrete breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisco Miguel Maack kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Firmín Navarrete. That made the score 2-1 in the 97 minute of play.
