The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Godofredo Pontigo hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the match, Licanray's goal looked a bit too open when Eriberto Robledo came free, but Lucero Vizcaya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the match, Licanray's goalkeeper Lucero Vizcaya had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sergio Ramírez. Chanar FC's Eriberto Robledo got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 22nd minute, Eriberto Robledo reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lucero Vizcaya. The goal made the score 1-0. Sergio Ramírez kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The supporters of Licanray booed when Chanar FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Román Erazo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 33rd minute, Sergio Ramírez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Sergio Ramírez might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lucero Vizcaya. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sergio Ramírez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 39th minute Eriberto Robledo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lucero Vizcaya saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Sergio Ramírez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gaston Canavesio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Yeray Baros went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Alirio Mac Millan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 minutes, Nestor Ahonzo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Chanar FC and the Licanray players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 51st match minute, Chanar FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nestor Ahonzo to maneuver through the defense. Yeray Baros received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Gaston Canavesio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chanar FC's Gaston Canavesio proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Chanar FC from getting a goal against them. In a very dangerous position, a player in Licanray fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 62nd minute. Penalty! Rufino Zunino shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The audience was convinced that Eriberto Robledo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lucero Vizcaya was relentless in the 66th minute of the game. After a defensive mix-up in Licanray's zone, Sergio Ramírez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lucero Vizcaya came out of the goal and Sergio Ramírez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Sergio Ramírez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 79 minutes into the game, Yeray Baros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Licanray's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chanar FC the free kick. Yeray Baros hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Alirio Mac Millan struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Gaston Canavesio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Licanray. Sergio Ramírez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Licanray were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Chanar FC's much stronger midfield.
