Campiche's Rolando Deves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Samuel Canningham in the 7th minute of play. The supporters of Carmoniao booed when Campiche was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Saturnín Bastías didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bautista Lukey was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 9th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Rolando Deves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Canningham, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Arturo Paladino in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Casimír Ulloa saved Carmoniao from getting behind. The supporters of Campiche booed when Carmoniao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Victorio Mantilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 24 minutes, Arturo Paladino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Campiche's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arturo Paladino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 26 minutes into the game, Archibaldo Jurado was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carmoniao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Campiche the free kick. In the 38th minute, Eladio Echaiz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th match minute, Carmoniao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bautista Lukey to maneuver through the defense. Félix Agnese sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Arturo Paladino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Campiche's supporters rose to their feet, but Arturo Paladino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Casimír Ulloa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Samuel Canningham hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Campiche's zone, Félix Agnese stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Deves came out of the goal and Félix Agnese tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samuel Canningham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Deves having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Carmoniao lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
