A hard shot by Pacífico Madrid from long distance, 22 minutes into the match, got Adam Raffo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After 23 minutes of play, Zapiga AFC's David Israel Achurra made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Alejandro Patrick was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 29th match minute, UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Miguel Gonzalez to maneuver through the defense. The referee ignored Zapiga AFC's protests and gave Conrado Botello a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Zapiga AFC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Conrado Botello hit a great ball. When Gerard Acosta came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerard Acosta couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Juan Miguel Gonzalez made the kick off in the second half. With 62 minutes on the clock, Pacífico Madrid commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Zapiga AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. UNIVERSIDAD DE CHILE fully deserved thier win.
