The audience thought a goal was coming when Prudentio Caldera got free with Fortunato Astigueta in the 40th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fortunato Astigueta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Seran Zurita in the 43rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Juan Devoto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huilipatagua's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Devoto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fortunato Astigueta breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yeray Socias's late challenge caught a Patillos's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Lander Milroy to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Huilipatagua's zone, Duardo Raggio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jose Maria Marquéz came out of the goal and Duardo Raggio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Patillos's Ismael Lautroup got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 82 minutes into the game, Regino Camus cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Jose Maria Marquéz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Seran Zurita took the ball and in the 90 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Fortunato Astigueta. Fortunato Astigueta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. Yeray Socias was shown his second yellow card after 93 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Ismael Lautroup who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Jose Maria Marquéz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Huilipatagua's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
