After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Fausto Claude managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cultane's supporters rose to their feet, but Fausto Claude was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zebulón Engdahl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Huanta's zone, Fausto Claude stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zebulón Engdahl came out of the goal and Fausto Claude tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 10 minutes into the match, Huanta's goal looked a bit too open when Fausto Claude came free, but Zebulón Engdahl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 15 minutes, Amadeo Carreño managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Huanta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amadeo Carreño was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 20th minute, Sansón Undona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Huanta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Edilberto Grau blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zebulón Engdahl having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Amadeo Carreño managed to get in a good position for a shot. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fausto Claude made a kick off. After 58 played minutes Huanta got a freekick which was hit by Germán Angeloni. 63 minutes into the game, Gerardo Sudi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Huanta's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cultane the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Huanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Sudi to maneuver through the defense. If Edilberto Grau had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Claude in the 71st minute of play forced Huanta's goalkeeper Zebulón Engdahl to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Edilberto Grau's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zebulón Engdahl was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Alberto Pavez didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sansón Undona went, in the 86th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Huanta walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
