Emanuel Astorga breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Pejerrey AFC's Salvatore Monasterio got a free kick in the 39th minute. A collision led to Maiteines getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Angelillo Felice hit a great ball. A hard shot 44 in the game by Celestino Murdoch from a close distance when the talented Feliberto Carmona managed to make a qualified save. Maiteines's players were relieved. The Maiteines fans' excitement grew in the 48th match minute when Maiteines's Ignacio Salgado looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
