The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 40th minute of the game. One of Rucapequen AFC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Pua FC:s goal. Yoel Camiña walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. Horacio Zuazagoitia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Blanch having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Ignacio Fonseca to make the kick off.
