The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Juan Carlos Della came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by Montenegro's Naelio Somarriva. But to his dismay, Naelio Somarriva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Fulco Garzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Naelio Somarriva recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Reloca FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Juan Jose Mujica hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Reloca FC's Caupolicán Binfa got a free kick in the 15th minute. After having played for 18 minutes, Naelio Somarriva managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Montenegro's supporters crossed their fingers, but Naelio Somarriva was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th match minute, Montenegro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fortunato Poyancos to maneuver through the defense. Gaston Albarran struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Claudio Marcó didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Reloca FC. Salomone Mendieta's late challenge caught a Reloca FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salomone Mendieta helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Montenegro's Salomone Mendieta got a free kick in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Davy in the 30th minute of play forced Montenegro's goalkeeper Claudio Marcó to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reloca FC were furious when Marco Canningham was red carded, 34 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 33 minutes into the game, one of Reloca FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 36th minute there was a penalty for Montenegro. Hugo Armstrong stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Juan Carlos Della. 0-2. Gaston Albarran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio Marcó having to interfere. Naelio Somarriva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Juan Carlos Della tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Gaston Albarran made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Reloca FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Angelo Cortés to maneuver through the defense. Gaston Albarran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. With a little luck, Reloca FC's Juan Carlos Della got control of the ball when Fulco Garzo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Fulco Garzo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montenegro's supporters rose to their feet, but Fulco Garzo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Juan Carlos Della breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reloca FC's Juan Carlos Della proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 63rd minute of the match, managed to save Reloca FC from getting a goal against them. In the 65th match minute, Montenegro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Armstrong to maneuver through the defense. Fulco Garzo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juan Carlos Della having to interfere. In the 83rd minute Naelio Somarriva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Carlos Della saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Montenegro's zone, Gaston Albarran stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Claudio Marcó came out of the goal and Gaston Albarran tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Naelio Somarriva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fulco Garzo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Carlos Della made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fulco Garzo in the 94th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Montenegro had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
