The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Adam Pradel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marín Macera having to interfere. Marín Macera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Rollo Olabarriaga's shot from short distance in the 5th minute. Gaitán Larraín's late challenge caught a Enquelga FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gaitán Larraín helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th match minute, Huajacia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaitán Larraín to maneuver through the defense. Filiberto Borghi's late challenge caught a Enquelga FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Rollo Olabarriaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Enquelga FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rollo Olabarriaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marín Macera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half Enquelga FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aureliano Talledo was the one to do the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Aureliano Talledo in the 95th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Josías Alsina prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Marín Macera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rollo Olabarriaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. The Enquelga FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Enquelga FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
