After a defensive mix-up in Pilicura FC's zone, Esequiel Arizmendi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubén Scheid came out of the goal and Esequiel Arizmendi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Pilicura FC's Rubén Scheid proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Pilicura FC from getting a goal against them. In the 45th minute Hermelando Delporte shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristián Maschke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andy Roca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cristián Maschke breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Hermelando Delporte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andy Roca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
