Fabián Unzueta kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 9thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Poroma FC's keeper Victorino Orihuela was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. If Fabián Unzueta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Herdoyza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Victorino Orihuela was a little too slow when Joaquin Herdoyza got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 18th minute. The score was now 1-0. When Angelillo Oyanedel fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Poroma FC's protests and gave Angelillo Oyanedel a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Santiago booed when Poroma FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Angelillo Oyanedel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Herdoyza fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victorino Orihuela having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Joaquin Herdoyza managed to get in a good position for a shot. Santiago's supporters rose to their feet, but Joaquin Herdoyza was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victorino Orihuela breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With his leg Victorino Orihuela managed to avoid a goal in the 29thth minute, when Santiago's Fabián Unzueta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 31 minutes into the match, Santiago's goal looked a bit too open when Jerardo Milan came free, but Enric Abud reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Santiago's zone, Jerardo Milan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enric Abud came out of the goal and Jerardo Milan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Enric Abud took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Miguel Pimentel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jerardo Milan in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Enric Abud saved Santiago from getting behind. When Fabián Unzueta came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Santiago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabián Unzueta couldn't finish the play. In the 47th minute, Marcel Latuz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Jorge Vicente Cantuarias kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. When Fabián Unzueta came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Santiago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fabián Unzueta couldn't finish the play. After 80 played minutes Poroma FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Vicente Cantuarias. After recieving a nice pass, Santiago's Marcel Latuz tried to score from far away in the 80th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Poroma FC's goalkeeper Victorino Orihuela, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 90th match minute, Santiago was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Apolo Utreras to maneuver through the defense. When Hilario Abufom came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Santiago fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hilario Abufom couldn't finish the play. In the 97th minute, Niguel Rioseco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Santiago were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest.
