The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Victoro Valdivia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 8th minute Samuel Paternost shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raúlo Santana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bodeguita AFC's Esteban José Laso de la Vega got a good chance for a goal in the 10th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Esteban José Laso de la Vega had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Raúlo Santana made an important save on a dangerous shot by Esteban José Laso de la Vega in the 14th minute. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Monteria's goalkeeper Raúlo Santana, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Juan Albrecht kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. Samuel Paternost sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Samuel Paternost had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 35th minute, Romano Juarez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Victoro Valdivia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pepe Dol, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Victoro Valdivia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Romano Juarez in the 39th minute of play. Pepe Dol fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Victoro Valdivia having to interfere. Tauro Bahamondes hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Romano Juarez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Monteria's supporters rose to their feet, but Romano Juarez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Victoro Valdivia breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Samuel Paternost to strike the kick off in the second half.
