After a defensive mix-up in Corahuano FC's zone, Francisco Miguel Ruiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eloi Mandiola came out of the goal and Francisco Miguel Ruiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eloi Mandiola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Ignacio Daldos in the 6th minute of the match. In the 39th of the match, Francisco Ignacio Daldos tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Eloi Mandiola got in the way and made a wonderful save. 39 minutes into the game, Theobald Baettig was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Corahuano FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ekewetti the free kick. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Francisco Ignacio Daldos made the kick off in the second half.
