Fabricio Granic dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Felipo Folch to make the kick off. Raúlo Oña took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Darien Echeandía. Darien Echeandía dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. 62 minutes into the match, Atacama's goalkeeper Darien Echeandía had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Raúlo Oña. Fabricio Granic fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darien Echeandía having to interfere. If Raúlo Oña had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 70th minute, Fabricio Granic fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Darien Echeandía, passed just outside the right post. Raúlo Oña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darien Echeandía having to interfere. When Felipo Folch came up free with the goalie in the 74th minute, the Atacama fans jumped to their feet.
