The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Dao booed when Ninquihue AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Amenábar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Zenón Barcena left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 13th minute of the match Esteban José Pantoja sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Aureliano Donoso skillfully saved the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zenón Barcena in the 16th minute of play forced Ninquihue AFC's goalkeeper Aureliano Donoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Erasmo Villalba hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Dao's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Amenábar came free, but Vasco Friederichs reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that José Carlos Villalba's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Aureliano Donoso was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. The wind increased when Danilo Amenábar made the kick off in the second half. When Mario Jesus Skewes fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ninquihue AFC's protests and gave Mario Jesus Skewes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 53rd minute, Mario Jesus Skewes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dao were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Ninquihue AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Yoel Antonucci took the corner. Dao's Yoel Antonucci was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Aureliano Donoso in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Mario Jesus Skewes hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. When Zenón Barcena came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Dao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zenón Barcena couldn't finish the play. If Zenón Barcena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 73 minutes into the game, Danilo Amenábar cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Vasco Friederichs was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vasco Friederichs took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tauro San Juan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
