If Honorato Trucios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Madeo Demartis reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Roger Rosales. The goal made the score 1-0. 11 minutes into the match, Gessel's Carlos Gustavo Fabiani sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Juan Cristóbal Mac Auliffe narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Madeo Demartis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Roger Rosales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 30 played minutes Gessel got a freekick which was hit by Alexis Urquieta. If Honorato Trucios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Gessel's Geraldo Hoffmann got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 34th minute, Teofilo Mira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Maurilio Hetz shot from long distance in the 35th minute, but Roger Rosales was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Omar Andolcetti in the 44th minute of play forced Mafil's goalkeeper Juan Cristóbal Mac Auliffe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 48th minute, Omar Andolcetti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Madeo Demartis made the kick off in the second half. Honorato Trucios received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Roger Rosales tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, Gessel was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juanjo Yáñez to maneuver through the defense. 1-1 became the score in the 63rd minute when Carlos Gustavo Fabiani elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Mafil's Madeo Demartis got a good chance for a goal in the 67th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 75 minutes into the match, Honorato Trucios notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Gessel's Roger Rosales. Roger Rosales was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Juan Cristóbal Mac Auliffe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Gustavo Fabiani, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. 83 minutes into the match, Mafil's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Gustavo Fabiani came free, but Juan Cristóbal Mac Auliffe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 84th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mafil's goalkeeper Juan Cristóbal Mac Auliffe, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 86th minute, Teofilo Mira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Madeo Demartis in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Roger Rosales prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 91 minutes, Juanjo Yáñez mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gessel and the Mafil players grew even worse after the yellow card. Juanjo Yáñez kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After 93 played minutes Gessel got a freekick which was hit by Geraldo Hoffmann. If Honorato Trucios had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mafil walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
