Ubaldo Tellez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 19th minute Jose Esteban Nolibuat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saturnino Quilapan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Saturnino Quilapan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jose Esteban Nolibuat, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gervasio Albarran fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Saturnino Quilapan having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Calaunsa AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Jose Esteban Nolibuat came free, but Saturnino Quilapan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Esteban Nolibuat in the 26th minute of play forced Calaunsa AFC's goalkeeper Saturnino Quilapan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th match minute, Calaunsa AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Cetina to maneuver through the defense. The corner led Calaunsa AFC's Patxi Galmes to fire away a dangerous shot which Frances Lauwerens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ubaldo Tellez made a kick off. Calaunsa AFC were awarded a corner in the 53th minute after Cato AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sansón Charme took the corner. The corner led Calaunsa AFC's Sansón Charme to fire away a dangerous shot which Frances Lauwerens despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Sansón Charme took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 60th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Frances Lauwerens. Cato AFC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. If Ubaldo Tellez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Plácido Maillard received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Frances Lauwerens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Saturnino Quilapan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gervasio Albarran in the 73rd minute of the match. Jose Esteban Nolibuat might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Saturnino Quilapan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jose Esteban Nolibuat ran back to his position shaking his head. If Gervasio Albarran had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Saturnino Quilapan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Esteban Nolibuat, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Calaunsa AFC's goalkeeper Saturnino Quilapan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 85th minute Ubaldo Tellez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frances Lauwerens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Calaunsa AFC's Ubaldo Tellez got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Saturnino Quilapan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jose Esteban Nolibuat, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. If Jose Esteban Nolibuat had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Apolo Mac Iver's late challenge caught a Cato AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Apolo Mac Iver helped the player get up and apologised. After 93 played minutes Calaunsa AFC got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Mac Iver. In the 94th minute, Jose Esteban Nolibuat left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cato AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. For all the effort they put into the match, the Calaunsa AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Cato AFC.
