The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Higinio Sabater made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Armando Farfán in the 11th minute of play. After 13 played minutes Quetalco AFC got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Gustavo Montiel. After some careless play in the Quetalco AFC defense, Dino Matute kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Higinio Sabater. The Quetalco AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Higinio Sabater should have stopped the shot. In the 25th minute, Rafa Saavedra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Quetalco AFC booed when Guatanabe AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonides Delporte didn't get a good kick on the ball. Victorino Seisdedos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th match minute, Quetalco AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Carlos Gustavo Montiel to maneuver through the defense. Diego Armando Farfán fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Higinio Sabater having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dino Matute in the 32nd minute of play forced Quetalco AFC's goalkeeper Higinio Sabater to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Victorino Seisdedos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robert Aballay charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Robert Aballay the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Guatanabe AFC's Robert Aballay got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Zelipe Fanjul made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Victorino Seisdedos sent off a good shot on target. Quetalco AFC's Higinio Sabater played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leonides Delporte in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

A collision led to Guatanabe AFC getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Nafarroa Solares hit a great ball. In the 57th minute, Victorino Seisdedos made a precise shot to the right of Zelipe Fanjul. Guatanabe AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After 60 played minutes Guatanabe AFC got a freekick which was hit by Leonides Delporte. With a little luck, Quetalco AFC's Higinio Sabater got control of the ball when Dino Matute tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 70 minutes, Carlos Gustavo Montiel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Quetalco AFC and the Guatanabe AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 70th minute, Carlos Gustavo Montiel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Higinio Sabater made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Diego Armando Farfán in the 71st minute of play. Rafa Saavedra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Dino Matute came free with the goalkeeper in the 80th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Higinio Sabater could save by the left post. In the 82nd of the match, Diego Armando Farfán tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Higinio Sabater got in the way and made a wonderful save. 83 minutes into the match, Quetalco AFC's goalkeeper Higinio Sabater had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dino Matute. Diego Armando Farfán blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Higinio Sabater having to make a save. Guido Bacquet kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Higinio Sabater showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Diego Armando Farfán, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. Dino Matute could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 97th minute of the match, but Higinio Sabater made a huge save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
