Candido Cavareda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Menéndez Ambrosio in the 4th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Albin Scheuermann managed to get in a good position for a shot. Buchupureo's supporters rose to their feet, but Albin Scheuermann was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Epifanío Bennet breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nicanor Millas got free with Epifanío Bennet in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Everyone was convinced a goal was close when Buchupureo's Albin Scheuermann in the 8th minute lifted the ball towards the upper right corner, but Epifanío Bennet was perfectly placed and prevented a goal for Alfalfal through an amazing save. If Menéndez Ambrosio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Menéndez Ambrosio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Candido Cavareda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nicanor Millas came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Buchupureo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nicanor Millas couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Buchupureo's Salvatore Fonseca got a free kick in the 29th minute. Isaiás Cuellar missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 30 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Candido Cavareda right hand side. When Menéndez Ambrosio came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Alfalfal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Menéndez Ambrosio couldn't finish the play. In the 33rd match minute, Buchupureo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Roberto Ariza to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 38 minutes, Albin Scheuermann managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Buchupureo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albin Scheuermann was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Candido Cavareda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Isadoro Jodar in the 49th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Menéndez Ambrosio to make the kick off. Menéndez Ambrosio was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 53rd minute. Alfalfal's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Alfalfal's Menéndez Ambrosio got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Albin Scheuermann struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Epifanío Bennet didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Buchupureo. Isadoro Jodar hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Buchupureo were awarded a corner in the 60th minute after Alfalfal's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Alipio Urquidi took the corner. After 62 minutes, Topocho Miquel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Buchupureo and the Alfalfal players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Alfalfal booed when Buchupureo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Topocho Miquel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fidelio Angosto's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Candido Cavareda firmly grabbed it by the left post. Roberto Ariza kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Epifanío Bennet showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Scheuermann, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Epifanío Bennet made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albin Scheuermann in the 70th minute of play. If Albin Scheuermann had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. Nicanor Millas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Epifanío Bennet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Alfalfal supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Alfalfal would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
