He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Cunlagua FC reached it. Taltal AFC's Modestio Carter got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 40th minute, Geraldo Andia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Germán Bastic. The goal made the score 1-0. Modestio Carter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germán Bastic having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when Tor Linacre put in a rough tackle. 46 minutes into the game, one of Cunlagua FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Taltal AFC a penalty, 49 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Edgardo Tagle, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cunlagua FC's Germán Bastic. 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Marcelino Matte made a kick off. Abelardo Villouta showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Visen Nolibuat in the 56th minute of the match. Geraldo Andia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Modestio Carter struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Germán Bastic didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Taltal AFC. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Geraldo Andia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Taltal AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Geraldo Andia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Germán Bastic breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Germán Bastic showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Modestio Carter, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Visen Nolibuat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the match, Cunlagua FC's goal looked a bit too open when Modestio Carter came free, but Germán Bastic reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcelino Matte struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Abelardo Villouta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cunlagua FC. If Fidelio Rivas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Cunlagua FC booed when Taltal AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Aristeo Garza didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cunlagua FC's Edelmiro Painecura shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 81st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Abelardo Villouta but with some difficulty. After having played for 82 minutes, Marcelino Matte managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cunlagua FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marcelino Matte was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Fidelio Rivas came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Cunlagua FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fidelio Rivas couldn't finish the play. Abelardo Villouta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcelino Matte in the 84th minute. A collision led to Cunlagua FC getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Visen Nolibuat hit a great ball. After having played for 90 minutes, Modestio Carter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Taltal AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Modestio Carter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 97th minute, Modestio Carter got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Taltal AFC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
