The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a little luck, Chumelden FC's Gilesindo Mac Donald got control of the ball when Romano Recalde tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gilesindo Mac Donald made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipo Thompson in the 13th minute of play. Lester Pujadas hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Gilesindo Mac Donald showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipo Thompson in the 23rd minute of the match. Claudio Unzueta struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Juan Alberto Salvador didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chumelden FC. Romano Recalde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Chusmiza AFC's Felipo Thompson got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudio Unzueta in the 36th minute of play forced Chusmiza AFC's goalkeeper Juan Alberto Salvador to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Chusmiza AFC's Romano Recalde got a good chance for a goal in the 38th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Romano Recalde fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gilesindo Mac Donald having to interfere. With his leg Gilesindo Mac Donald managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Chusmiza AFC's Romano Recalde fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Gilesindo Mac Donald came out of the goal and Romano Recalde tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Chusmiza AFC's Juan Alberto Salvador proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Chusmiza AFC from getting a goal against them. Chumelden FC's Claudio Unzueta got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Miliano Santander hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. When Honorato Ugalde came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Chumelden FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Honorato Ugalde couldn't finish the play.
