The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Godofredo Pereda during the 4th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Cartagena booed when Nerquihue AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Godofredo Pereda didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 13 played minutes Cartagena got a freekick which was hit by Aníbal Matte. Abner Madsen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abner Madsen to make the kick off. Abner Madsen showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Abner Madsen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Esequiel Palma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nerquihue AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Esequiel Palma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. León Oliveros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tauro Erwenne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute.
