Florentino Uriondo really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florentino Uriondo in the 31st minute of play forced Maitencillo's goalkeeper Rutenio Elzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Milián Facuse took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Esequiel Durney, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the match, Esequiel Durney had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Milián Facuse. Huellahue's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Esequiel Durney was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of Huellahue booed when Maitencillo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alirio Manzor didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rutenio Elzo made a fantastic save in the 42nd minute, when Florentino Uriondo sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Florentino Uriondo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Huellahue's supporters rose to their feet, but Florentino Uriondo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rutenio Elzo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

In the 71st minute Adrián Madaune shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Milián Facuse saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rutenio Elzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Florentino Uriondo, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. When Francisco Ignacio Zañartu fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maitencillo's protests and gave Francisco Ignacio Zañartu a yellow card for diving instead. In the 76th minute, Francisco Ignacio Zañartu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alirio Manzor hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. Florentino Uriondo might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rutenio Elzo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rutenio Elzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 90 minutes into the match, Maitencillo's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Jackson came free, but Rutenio Elzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Milián Facuse came out of the goal and Adrián Madaune tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
