In the 20th match minute, Hualane was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rutenio Abrego to maneuver through the defense. Florentino Anguita struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. José Marcelo Corral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Higueritas. Jorge Mantzke received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Odilón Gorbea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rutenio Abrego sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jorge Mantzke stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Abdul Canepa hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. In the 54th minute of the match, Rutenio Abrego got a very nice opportunity to score, but Odilón Gorbea was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After having played for 60 minutes, Rutenio Abrego managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hualane's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rutenio Abrego was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With 63 minutes on the clock, Modesto Mellado commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After 62 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hualane! Rutenio Abrego recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 72nd minute, Rutenio Abrego managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hualane's supporters rose to their feet, but Rutenio Abrego was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Odilón Gorbea breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Odilón Gorbea came out of the goal in the 75th minute to try and stop a shot by Hualane's Marcos Francisco Domínguez. But to his dismay, Marcos Francisco Domínguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. After a rather tough play, Hualane's Iván Carrasco got a free kick in the 79th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hualane's zone, Fulgencio Arregui stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Marcelo Corral came out of the goal and Fulgencio Arregui tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
