Spectators: 35 (Terracing: 27, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Paulín Mazuelas started the match with the kick off. Romelio Longa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 2nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 5 minutes into the match, Mantilhue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Romelio Longa came free, but Baraquiel Bacquet reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 6th minute Eleuterio Rosende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baraquiel Bacquet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Mantilhue FC's Alberto Rogers got a free kick in the 7th minute. In the 8th minute, Eleuterio Rosende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 10th minute Romelio Longa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baraquiel Bacquet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 minutes of play, Mantilhue FC's Juan Cristóbal Mac Kenney made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Paulino Vila was left in no man's land by his defense there! Paulino Vila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulín Mazuelas in the 22nd minute of play. Leonel Eastman hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. In the 34th minute Eleuterio Rosende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baraquiel Bacquet saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 35 minutes, Juan Cristóbal Mac Kenney managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mantilhue FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juan Cristóbal Mac Kenney was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute, Mantilhue FC's Paulín Mazuelas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Juan Cristóbal Mac Kenney in the 48thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Paulino Vila, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eleuterio Rosende was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Romelio Longa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guampulla FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romelio Longa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 54 minutes into the game, Eleuterio Rosende was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Guampulla FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mantilhue FC the free kick. After 56 played minutes Mantilhue FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Eastman. If Fidelio Penschke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eleuterio Rosende in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Baraquiel Bacquet saved Mantilhue FC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Mantilhue FC's zone, Eleuterio Rosende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Baraquiel Bacquet came out of the goal and Eleuterio Rosende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 69th match minute, Mantilhue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alberto Rogers to maneuver through the defense. In the 73rd minute, Paulín Mazuelas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mantilhue FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Paulino Vila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulín Mazuelas in the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd match minute, Mantilhue FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Alberto Renner to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Miquel Maldini from long distance, 85 minutes into the match, got Baraquiel Bacquet's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. If Eleuterio Rosende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Mantilhue FC's goalkeeper Baraquiel Bacquet, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Paulino Vila showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulín Mazuelas in the 95th minute of the match. Eleuterio Rosende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mantilhue FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Guampulla FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
