The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Talquipen's supporters crossed their fingers, but Celedonio Bischhoffshausen was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miguel Ángel Marín took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Celedonio Bischhoffshausen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomás Ureta in the 21st minute of play forced Los Tres Animales's goalkeeper Miguel Ángel Marín to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 23 minutes into the game, Juan Miguel Mac Courtney was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Los Tres Animales's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Talquipen the free kick. After 23 played minutes Los Tres Animales got a freekick which was hit by Juan Miguel Mac Courtney. In the 26th match minute, Los Tres Animales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Narciso Godoy to maneuver through the defense. Edmundo Torrealba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Narciso Abalos having to interfere. In the 30th match minute, Los Tres Animales was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Miguel Mac Courtney to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, Talquipen's Velasco Castex tried to score from far away in the 31st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 33rdth minute of the game Celedonio Bischhoffshausen who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Tres Animales's Miguel Ángel Marín was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Álvaro Vidal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 38 minutes into the match, Nacho Atria notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Talquipen's Narciso Abalos. Narciso Abalos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Edmundo Torrealba received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Narciso Abalos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Juan Miguel Mac Courtney was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 44 minutes into the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Los Tres Animales fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 43rd minute. Penalty! In the 46th minute there was a penalty for Talquipen. Velasco Castex stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Miguel Ángel Marín. 2-1.

The wind increased when Edmundo Torrealba made the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Talquipen getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Victor Jeldrez hit a great ball. Celedonio Bischhoffshausen recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 86th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tomás Ureta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
