Leoncio Barrenechea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eladio Ossa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leoncio Barrenechea was a little too slow when Eladio Ossa got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 14th minute. The score was now 1-0. Leoncio Barrenechea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eladio Ossa in the 22nd minute of play. Constancio Fajardo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Leoncio Barrenechea made a huge save. Constancio Fajardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Lauro Cardoso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ercilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Pachama the free kick. The supporters of Pachama booed when Ercilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lauro Cardoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th minute, Remigio Garzón left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Pachama fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Pachama's Remigio Garzón got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eladio Ossa to make the kick off. After 52 minutes, Eladio Ossa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ercilla and the Pachama players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eladio Ossa hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. In the 53rd match minute, Ercilla was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Constancio Fajardo to maneuver through the defense. Remigio Garzón struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Silvestre Lizardi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Pachama. When Silvestre Malherbe came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Pachama fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silvestre Malherbe couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Pachama's zone, Constancio Fajardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Leoncio Barrenechea came out of the goal and Constancio Fajardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87thth minute of the game Constancio Fajardo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pachama's Leoncio Barrenechea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Eladio Ossa scored 2-2 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leoncio Barrenechea, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.
