Shohoku FC's Tamariz Saul proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 5th minute of the match, managed to save Shohoku FC from getting a goal against them. If Firmín Navarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tamariz Saul made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Teddy Goleš in the 8th minute of play. Tamariz Saul showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teddy Goleš in the 11th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Shohoku FC's goal looked a bit too open when Teddy Goleš came free, but Tamariz Saul reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Şükrü Erek came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Shohoku FC's Firmín Navarro. But to his dismay, Firmín Navarro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. If Firmín Navarro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tamariz Saul made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Leopoldo Zañartu sent off a good shot on target. Şükrü Erek showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Firmín Navarro, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. The supporters of Shohoku FC booed when FUTBOL CLUB CHILOE UNIDOS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leopoldo Zañartu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 34 minutes into the match, Shohoku FC's goalkeeper Tamariz Saul had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Zañartu. After 36 played minutes Shohoku FC got a freekick which was hit by Pío Benito. The crowd rose to their feet as Emmanuel Antoine kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tamariz Saul. That made the score 1-1 in the 37 minute of play. In the 43rd minute Firmín Navarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Şükrü Erek saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Firmín Navarro came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Shohoku FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Firmín Navarro couldn't finish the play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.
