In the 6th minute, Bo Björklund got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bo Björklund was extremely unlucky when he, in the 8th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. A nice corner shot did that Isaiás Pareja got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Leandro Daneri quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Yeray Saul's late challenge caught a MFD Eindhoven's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yeray Saul helped the player get up and apologised. El Eterno Campeón's Leandro Daneri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 19th minute of the match, managed to save El Eterno Campeón from getting a goal against them. In the 21st minute Tanio Mascaro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dagoberto Cameno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dagoberto Cameno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tanio Mascaro, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Moisés Ossandon took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Leandro Daneri to make any attempt to save it. After having played for 27 minutes, Moisés Ossandon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MFD Eindhoven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moisés Ossandon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Leandro Daneri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from José Alberto Lerga, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. In the 34th minute, Moisés Ossandon left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MFD Eindhoven fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. 40 minutes into the game, MFD Eindhoven's José Alberto Lerga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Leandro Daneri made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when José Alberto Lerga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Moisés Ossandon hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. José Alberto Lerga scored 6-0 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Leandro Daneri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the El Eterno Campeón defense, José Alberto Lerga kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leandro Daneri. The El Eterno Campeón fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leandro Daneri should have stopped the shot. MFD Eindhoven's Albin García was substituted for Jhon Wisgerhof. 64 minutes had been played when some careless play by El Eterno Campeón's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Isaiás Pareja was slow to take the kick. During this time MFD Eindhoven's players had a chance to rest. Leandro Daneri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Alberto Lerga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. MFD Eindhoven's Serafín Borja was substituted for José Alberto Lerga. In the 69th minute of the match MFD Eindhoven got a corner. El Eterno Campeón's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Isaiás Pareja ran over to the corner to take the kick. Albin García fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leandro Daneri having to interfere. Vicens Aguila kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. In the 74th minute, Bo Björklund left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MFD Eindhoven fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Leandro Daneri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Serafín Borja, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 79th minute Serafín Borja shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leandro Daneri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MFD Eindhoven's supporters crossed their fingers, but Serafín Borja was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Humberto Guajardo lost his temper 96 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 95 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for El Eterno Campeón! Leandro Daneri went to the wrong direction when Bo Björklund was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. When the referee ended the match the MFD Eindhoven players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
